  1. “Writing a Research Paper”

Profesor organizator: Prof. Profira Cristina Tudor

      A fost prezentat un material Power Point despre elaborarea acestui tip de writing, pornind de la un proiect realizat cu elevii clasei a 11-a A, intensive engleză.S-au discutat paşii care trebuie urmaţi în redactare, greşelile frecvente, plagiatul şi au fost prezentate rezultatele proiectului.
      Prof. Mihalachi Liliana de la Şcoala cu clasele I-VIII Comăneşti a prezentat primul produs al unui proiect Comenius în parteneriat cu o şcoală din Turcia şi cu o şcoală din Germania, activităţile desfăşurate în cadrul proiectului şi a invitat pe cei prezenţi să aplice pentru astfel de proiecte.
      Prof. Cristina Pupăză de Şcoala nr.2 “Petru Comarnescu” a informat participanţii despre înfiinţarea Asociaţiei “7x7 PENTRU EDUCAŢIEşi a recomandat câteva site-uri utile pentru profesori şi elevi.
      Prof. Luminiţa Cîmpan a invitat colegii să stabilească de comun acord activităţile de cerc din anul şcolar următor, 2010-2011, acestea urmând să se desfăşoare la Comăneşti şi la Frasin.

  1. “Games - A Motivating Way of Teaching”

Profesori organizatori :Prof. Eugenia Rusu şi Prof. Ingrid Boicu-Budu

Profesorii prezenţi au fost antrenaţi în activităţi interactive, fiind împărţiţi pe grupe. Fiecare grupă a fost solicitată să propună o modalitate de a preda o anumită temă (de exemplu “Weather” sau “Past Tense Simple”) prin intermediul unui joc. A fost vizionat şi un material Power Point pe tema “Games - A Motivating Way of Teaching”.
Activităţile s-au dovedit a fi foarte antrenante, ajungându-se în final la aceeaşi concluzie, că jocurile pot fi o modalitate foarte eficientă de a aduce un suflu nou şi motivant în procesul de predare-învăţare a limbii engleze. 
În continuare sunt câteva exemple de jocuri ce au fost propuse de către profesorii participanţi la activitatea de cerc:

I. Don’t say yes or no

The class is divided into two teams. A student from team A answers questions from team B trying not to pronounce yes or no. If this happens, then it is the turn of someone from team B to answer team A. The winning team is the one whose representative has lasted longer without pronouncing the forbidden words!

II. Expanding texts

Write a single simple verb in the centre of the board. Invite students to add one, two or three words to it. For example, if the word was “go”, they might suggest “I go”, or “Go to bed!”.  The rule is that they can only add at the beginning or at the end of what is already written. Add or change punctuation each time as appropriate. For example:
Go
Go to bed!
“Go to bed!” said my mother.
“Go to bed!” said my mother angrily.
“You must go to bed!” said my mother angrily.
“Jane, you must go to bed!” said my mother angrily. …..etc.

III. Hearing mistakes

Tell or read a story that is well known to the students (it can be one they have recently worked on in class), introducing deliberate mistakes as you do so. When they hear a mistake, students put their hands up –making beeping sounds adds more fun!- and correct you. In order to raise the stake you can take back points from the team that fail to give the right answer.

IV. If you were…..

This is another good way to practice conditionals. Write this pattern on the board:
If you were a ………, what ……….would you be?
Then tell your students to answer the questions.
  1. If you were an animal, what animal would you be?
  2. If you a colour, what colour would you be?
  3. If you were a building, what building would you be?
  4. If you were food, what food would you be?
  5. If you were a book, what book would you be?

V. Tongues twisters

Write a tongue twister on the board, and read it with the students slowly at first, then faster. Make sure the students’ pronunciation is acceptable. Then individual volunteers try to say it quickly three times.
  1. She sells sea shells on the sea shore.
  2. Mixed biscuits, mixed biscuits.
  3. Red leather, yellow leather, red leather, yellow leather.
  4. A proper copper coffee pot.
  5. Three grey geese in a green field grazing.
  6. Swan swam over the pond, swim swan swim; swan swam back again- well swum swan!
  7. Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled pepper./  Did Peter Piper pick a peck of pickled pepper? /  If Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled pepper, /  Where’s the peck of pickled pepper Peter Piper picked?

VI. Word searches and other funny activities:

A word search puzzle is a group of words hidden in a grid of random letters. Words may be hidden within the puzzle in any direction. Easier puzzles have shorter words and smaller grids, and limit the directions of the hidden words to 'left to right' and 'down'. Harder puzzles include longer words, larger grids, and words hidden in any direction. Puzzles typically include a list of the hidden words below the puzzle, and a puzzle solution showing the circled words. 
Other funny activities may include the use of the Morse Code.
